The Fleming Initiative’s robust governance and advisory structures include the following. These structures are evolving as we build the Initiative.
Oversight Board
The Oversight Board is responsible for strategy for the Initiative.
It will set overall aims and direction, ensure assurance objectives are being met and direct remedial action.
It will also act as a dispute resolution forum if required and oversee and approve annual and five year budgets and financial reporting.
Partner's Forum
The Partner’s Forum brings together all the Initiative’s main funding and operating partners on a regular basis to share progress and lessons learned, coordinate activities in order to maximise synergies and impact, and inform the Initiative’s future goals, strategy, and operating model.

International Advisory Group
The International Advisory Group is being established to help the Fleming Initiative to achieve its objectives and be an effective partnership, by providing expertise and counsel, and acting as a constructive friend to the Initiative’s Director, Executive Team, and Oversight Board.
Public Engagement & Involvement Committee
Our Public Engagement & Involvement Committee will be formed of lay and patient members and co-Chaired by a public member alongside a public engagement and involvement professional.
The Committee will work across all research areas, shaping priorities and practice, sharing their experiences and providing fresh perspectives on our work.
They will champion the benefits of and reduce the barriers to, public engagement and involvement, ensuring patient and public voice remains at the heart of our work and decision making.
Executive Management Group
The Executive Management Group has an executive function.
It determines and oversees project streams to achieve strategic objectives; identifies and monitors risks and their mitigation; has authority to task others; holds budget responsibility; has the flexibility and authority to act (including recruitment and appointments).
